Wow, now you need a URL change, hahaha :) ("dariusintheigda"?) although I hope you update the boards blog with cross-posts so more people can see what's going on.

I wish there was a good place to congratulate the other candidates, they don't all have blogs! :o

While the new site isn't great...I hope you do set to improve it. I've sent feedback and put in bug reports, but I have no idea what's going on and why some basics still haven't been fixed (asking Joseph doesn't get anywhere, he doesn't seem to know either).

I also realise it took ages to get this site - the old site was unworkable mainly since it was hacked together php that Jason had to update manually. I wish there was a better packaged solution done in a more timely manner by more competent web developers.

Oh, and you don't want to even know what the first test site was like (I was testing that along with some other SIG people) and it was terrible, in ways that simply didn't work and wouldn't work anything like a website should for an organisation.

I'm surprised more board members haven't put website emphasis even if they don't know much web development stuff themselves. It should be a higher priority then it is...since last I heard they were starting, but nothing since! (If a board member was posting updates on changes - a changelog! it'd mean a LOT!). Maybe if I had previously used the platform it uses I'd be able to help fix things by volunteering for that web team, heh.

While I agree that stronger chapters will be a good thing for the IGDA, I would personally like to see specifics for how you would plan to accomplish that. The only areas I know of with strong local chapters also have a strong college community. Correlation != Causation, but there might be something endemic to the current chapters that turn off involvement from those at large studios.

So, to further question your answer to a question :-), *how( do you propose to make local chapters stronger in areas where they are currently weak?

Disclaimer: I also know Darius and support his candidacy, and am pressing him because I am curious, not as a "HA HA."
