Who’s Darius?

Yep, it's me.

Yep, it's me.

Hi, I’m Darius Kazemi. I intend to run for the IGDA Board in 2010.

My IGDA History

I’ve been an active IGDA volunteer for six years. In that time I’ve been involved in a number of IGDA initiatives, but my main volunteer work has occurred in my capacity as Technology Co-Officer for the Education SIG and a Chapter Coordinator for the Boston Post Mortem.

As a Chapter Coordinator for the Boston chapter I helped grow our chapter from 40 attendees a month to 180 attendees a month. I have helped build what I believe to be the most active IGDA chapter in the world, at least when measured by frequency of meetings and volume of attendance.

My Professional History

I am currently President at Orbus Gameworks, a gameplay metrics company I founded in 2007 with Jeff Ward (another IGDA volunteer). Prior to that I worked at Turbine for two years, as a QA tester on Dungeons & Dragons Online and then as a gameplay metrics specialist on Lord of the Rings Online. I also write a blog called Tiny Subversions, where I write about the game industry, and networking in particular. You can see my MobyGames rap sheet, too.
